Experience
Lunaboot Studios: Graviton (UE5/Unity)
Contributions:
- Designed and implemented a multithreaded and spatially partitioned vector field gravity system in UE5 (C++) with support for custom mesh data. Currently migrating to an FEA simulation.
- Gave a talk on this at the Epic Games offices in London, slides can be found here.
- Reduced level load times by ~99% (dependent on level size) for client machines through developer-side pre-processing and optimising runtime data structures.
- Improved vector field visualisation performance by 35x whilst adding shader support for instanced vector field meshes.
- Deployed Perforce Helix Core SCM on an Ubuntu server, allowing for cheaper project storage scaling and extending runway by over 6 months due to cost savings.
- Managed self-hosted VPN access and SSH tunnels for Docker services running on the server for over a dozen users.
- Setup uptime monitoring to improve SLI tracking and avoid resource saturation.
- Regular sprint meetings with user feedback, technical support calls and code reviews.

Shards of Bone (Personal Project): Sole Programmer (Unity)
Contributions:
- Architected an advanced real-time state machine in Unity (C#), with support for predicate state transitions and input buffering.
- Integrated boid based flock simulation implementation for enemy AI with targeted flocking support.
- Used GPU driven compute shaders (HLSL) to improve boid flock simulation performance by over 50x CPU implementation.
- Built a scriptable object configuration system to allow for quickly switching player or enemy config values for testing.

Peak Cyber Institute: Programming Intern (Unity)
Contributions:
- Developed a quiz game app in Unity (C#) for Android and iOS.
- Assisted in recording videos for cyber security courses.
CME Group: Programming Intern
Contributions:
Learned fundamentals of software engineering and security such as SOLID principles, networking, cryptography/hashing, performance profiling and unit testing whilst working with the real-time market data team.
Nomad Stays: Director
Contributions: Setup all the infrastructure and automations for the business, channel management, price/availability adjustment, automated messaging and a direct booking website.
Limit Break Mentorship: Mentee
Took part in a video game mentorship programme as a mentee, allowing me to get structured feedback on my work from senior developers in the games industry.
